Hello, how are you today? Welcome to our blog About Painting and Art. We hope you are very well and looking forward to a new Free Art and painting Post or Tutorial.
Today we want to share with you a special post:
What is the best drawing paper for beginners?
Go to an art store for paper and you could find yourself lost in a sea of paper types, brands, textures, and weights and the list goes on. Why are there so many types of paper? How to choose the paper for your project? Many factors go into choosing the right paper for your job. We will help you demystify the paper selection process for you.
First, let's mention a few terms that you should always keep in mind when choosing a paper for any project. You want your artwork to last for many, many years without deteriorating. Make sure to choose acid-free paper, as this is a very important factor. Paper that is not acid-free may deteriorate or yellow, affecting the image over time. Acid-free paper is buffered with calcium carbonate, which neutralizes acids that are absorbed from the air or through natural aging processes. All of our fine art papers, with the exception of newsprint, are acid-free. Newsprint is a very inexpensive paper that is only intended for practice.
There are several other factors to consider depending on the particular project and the medium being used.
